HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) – A 19-year-old was arrested on I-91 Wednesday morning for swerving and speeding.

The driver was identified as Xavier Daniels, 19, of Middletown.

Daniels was arrested for eluding a trooper and reckless driving.

Daniels was driving a gray Honda Accord with CT license plates.

He weaved through traffic on I-91 North near Exit 25, according to a state police trooper.

The trooper tried to pull Daniels over.

Instead of stopping, Daniels accelerated, reaching a speed of 110 miles per hour in a 90 mile per hour zone, police said.

After finding the Honda’s registration information, troopers went to a home in Middletown and spoke with Daniels’ family.

The family confirmed that Xavier was the driver of the Honda.

Police said Daniels was driving with a suspended license, his registration belonged to a different vehicle and the Honda was unregistered and uninsured.

Daniels was found and arrested.

He was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
