I’m Angel Reese’s Former Teammate Worth $1.5 Million NIL And A Famous Rapper Dad – Now I’m Dropping A New Album Ahead Of 2025 WNBA Draft

Flau’jae Johnson carries the flag for the LSU Tigers in the absence of Angel Reese.

Johnson and Reese won a national title together in 2023, defeated Caitlin Clark‘s Iowa Hawkeyes in a tough but very compelling national championship game.

A year later, Reese was selected No. 7 overall in 2024 by the Chicago Sky W.N.B.A Draft, leaving former running mate Johnson to hold the fort in Louisiana.

Johnson and Reese’s friendship began to cool when Angel made the jump to the pros, with Flau’jae admitting that “we’re not as close as we used to be.”

Nevertheless, the 21-year-old guard has continued to improve her game without Reese. She is currently averaging 24 points per game through six games in the NCAA season.

Johnson – who will be eligible for the WNBA Draft after this season – is a star in his own right.

She is one of the highest-earning college basketball players by name, image and likeness (NIL), and has signed lucrative endorsement deals with the likes of Puma, Meta, JBL and Taco Bell.

According to To3Johnson has a NIL value of $1.5 million, ranking 27th on their list of the nation’s most valuable student-athletes.

The 6-foot-1 baller is the second tallest woman on the list, trailing only behind gymnastics and sensation on social media, Olivia Dunne.

The Tigers star, seen on Amazon Prime’s ‘The Money Game: LSU’ alongside Reese, Dunne and Washington commanders quarterback Jayden Danielsalso happens to be a rapper signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.

Johnson is the daughter of rapper Camoflauge, real name Jason Johnson, a Georgia native known for his songs “Cut Friends” and “Laying My Stunt Down,” as well as his latest album, “Keepin It Real.”

Jason was tragically shot and killed in 2003, six months before Flau’jae was born, in a case that remains unsolved.

Flau’jae continues her father’s rap legacy as she pursues her hoop dream. She will release a new album in 2025, following the release of her debut studio EP Best of Both Worlds earlier this year.

Johnson teased her upcoming ‘RnB 4’ collection in the latest episode of the series Podcast ‘The best of both worlds with Flau’jae’.

She said the eight-track project, due out in February, draws from her personal experiences surrounding love and heartbreak and will showcase a more refined approach to production than her previous release.

“It’s getting cold and I know you’re all booed, RnB 4 activated,” Flau’jae said. “I think it will be eight songs for the project. It will be beautiful, it will be well put together, it will be like a new me.

“I’m on a roll, I’m getting older and I have more to talk about heartbreak and relationships. So y’all will love it, bro.”

The album will be released two months before the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Johnson has not yet declared for the draft and is still considering returning to LSU for her senior season.

She recently addressed the speculation on her podcast after fans were desperate to know if the 2024-2025 season would be her final season with the Tigers before turning pro.

“Actually, I have a secret, and I think the best time to get it out would be right now, on my podcast,” Johnson says. said.

“After a lot of thought and just talking to my team, my family and everyone involved in my athletics career, I just want to let you all know that I… I’m just playing.”

Johnson then burst out laughing before saying, “Everyone keeps asking me, just give it time, buddy. Give it time… I’m just having fun right now and playing some of my best basketball. But I’ll stay on Twitter see: everyone keeps asking… it’s up in the air right now.

“If you can’t tell, I’m eligible for the (WNBA) Draft this year. So I’m just letting God guide me,” she added. “Every time I feel that push or (feel like) it’s time, then it’s time… But no, I really don’t know. I’m just hooping right now.”

The Dallas Wings will have the No. 1 overall pick in April’s draft, which they are widely expected to use against generational UConn star Paige Bueckers.

The Los Angeles Sparks, Chicago Sky, Washington Mystics and Golden State Valkyries round out the top five.

The likes of Kiki Irafen (USC), Olivia Miles (Notre Dame), Sonia Citron (Notre Dame) and Dominique Malonga (France) are all expected to be top selections.
