Chandigarh: Trio attacks man with sharp weapons and fires shots outside his house

Three armed assailants attacked a laborer with sharp weapons and fired shots outside his house in Indira Colony, Manimajra on Friday evening.

The victim, Krishan, told police that the three suspects, armed with sharp weapons, ambushed him outside his house and launched an attack. He suffered serious injuries, mainly to his head, which required several stitches.

The incident further escalated when the attackers fired three to four shots from a pistol outside his house. However, no one was hit. Police found three grenades at the scene.

They said the attack appeared to be motivated by personal enmity. A case under the Arms Act was registered against the unidentified absconding suspect. An investigation is underway to identify and arrest them.
