Man streams suicide attempt live on Facebook, saved by quick action from friend – India TV

In a major development, a man hailing from Jaipur in Rajasthan was rescued by his friend on Saturday (November 23) after he saw him commit suicide in a live stream he started on Facebook. According to the information released, the incident took place on Saturday evening when Pavan, a resident of Bagru town in Jaipur, checked into a hotel on the Ajmer Highway. He then started livestreaming on Facebook, where he threatened to commit suicide.
Police said that one of his friends, who had then seen Pavan’s threatening message to claim his own life, immediately informed his acquaintance, who was serving as a head constable in Jaipur. Police said that after the officer became aware of the incident, he then traced the man’s location and alerted hotel staff.
“Upon confirmation, the hotel staff, acting on the urgency of the matter, broke into the room and found Pavan, who was about to hang himself from the ceiling fan. They immediately intervened and rescued him,” police added. Significantly, it is pertinent to note that the victim (Pawan) has been taken to Sawai Man Singh Hospital, Jaipur, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Moreover, further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
