New GTA 6 Tease has fans more excited than ever

GTA 6 is not only the most anticipated video game release of all time, but also the most anticipated release in entertainment history. Suffice to say, Grand Theft Auto fans (200 million of them all) are excited to play the first GTA game since 2013, when Rockstar Games released GTA 5. And in a new tease, they’re even more excited than ever.

The big question with GTA 6 is whether or not Rockstar Games can live up to the hype. The release of Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018 suggests that this is possible, but while RDR2 had a lot of expectations, GTA 6 has much more. When the next Grand Theft Auto game comes out, it will be a cultural moment, and in this regard, one of the most relevant points of the 2020s.

Rather than temper expectations, Rockstar Games has built them up so far. That’s why a recent plague sets the bar as high as possible. The tease came at last week’s Golden Joystick Awards, where the game won an award for the most anticipated release of 2025. And during the acceptance speech for the award, a Rockstar Games representative teased that the game is “absolutely stunning.” followed by ‘more to come’.

Of course, the latter may suggest that the long-awaited second trailer is imminent, but it’s the first tease that fans have been latching onto. It may be nothing more than impulsive marketing talk, but Rockstar Games has never talked about Red Dead Redemption 2 in this way.

We don’t know when the next trailer will be released, but time is running out for it to happen this year. If the second trailer comes out this year, it will be this week or sometime in early December. Some think it will rear its ugly head at The Game Awards 2024, but Rockstar Games doesn’t host any events. The day the second trailer drops will be more remarkable than The Game Awards itself, so there’s no reason to share the headlines. After December 12th it will be too close to the holidays. Therefore, we suspect that the next trailer will be released in the first quarter of 2025, close to the next earnings call for Rockstar Games.
