Customs officials today seized exotic snakes at Shamshabad Airport-Telangana

The incident caused a brief commotion at the RGIA airport in Shamshabad, which is otherwise known for seizures of gold, drugs and sometimes even ammunition.

Hyderabad: The customs officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad was shocked to see two exotic snakes in the luggage of two female passengers on Sunday evening.

The incident caused a brief commotion at RGIA airport Shamshabadwhich is also known for the seizures of gold, drugs and sometimes even ammunition.

As per available information, the two passengers had reached Hyderabad via a flight from Bangkok while the snakes were in a separate basket.

However, when the plane arrived at RGIA, customs officials decided to inspect the baskets and were shocked to see the snakes.

These snakes, believed to be exotic and poisonous, were found in the luggage. The two women have been arrested for questioning. The snakes were saved.

Authorities are investigating whether only these women were involved or whether they acted on behalf of someone.
