Police arrest three for robbery and rape of ‘runsgirls’ in club – Nigeria – The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News

The Delta State Police Command has arrested three suspects accused of targeting ‘runs girls’ in clubs, robbing and sexually assaulting them.

The spokesperson of the command, Bright Edafe, made this known on Tuesday, revealing that the suspects are using a deceptive strategy to lure their victims.

According to Edafe, the suspects approach young women, mainly prostitutes, also known as ‘rungirls’, in clubs.

Edafe revealed that the suspects engaged in conversations with their victims by dancing, drinking at clubs, negotiating prices and pretending to take them to a hotel.

He added that they would instead lead the girls to a bush, rob them, transfer money from their bank accounts and rape them.

“These three suspects operate in two ways. They go to clubs, carry running girls, dance and drink with them, negotiate prices and take them out as if they were going to the hotel. They later lead these young girls to the bush, rob them, transfer all their money from their bank accounts and rape them. As usual, they regret their actions and pray for a second chance.” Edafe tweed.

In a video shared alongside his tweet, Edafe also explained that the suspects operate as a one-shot syndicate that only targets young girls.

“They operate in two dimensions. One of them is that they pretend to be transporters. Find vulnerable young girls. They don’t target men. They target young girls. Pretend they want to wear them. They will carry them as passengers. When they reach about 100 yards, another member of their gang is waiting.

‘ They will come in now and they will now put the girl, the lady in their midst, sometimes drive them to a lonely road, to the bush, pick up their phone, open their mobile app, transfer all the money they have, their money pick up phones sometimes. They even rape these ladies.”

Edafe noted that one victim had been identified, although he was unwilling to speak publicly out of fear.

“We have one of the victims with us, although she’s afraid she doesn’t want to talk, and you know, we can’t force her to talk. No, we have the suspect here and they will tell us what they are doing, what they are doing, how they are doing it and why they are doing it.”
