Five charged in major drug bust in Greensboro, High Point

Throughout the month of November, Greensboro police worked with Guilford County sheriff’s deputies, High Point Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration to investigate a reported drug trafficking incident.

Authorities say four narcotics-related search warrants were served on Nov. 19, including three in Greensboro and one in High Point.

Law enforcement authorities seized approximately two kilograms of fentanyl, 54 grams of methamphetamine, ten firearms (one of which was reported stolen), and $15,000 in cash.

Police say the following people, all from Greensboro, have been charged in this investigation:

  • Henry Montarious Smith38: Conspiracy to traffic fentanyl; possession of firearm by convicted felon; possession of stolen pistol.
  • Derek Jamal Harper39: Fentanyl trafficking; conspiring to traffic fentanyl; possession of firearm by convicted felon; PWISD methamphetamine; A federal arrest warrant was issued, and he is currently being held as a federal prisoner without bond.
  • Alexander Robinson Jr., 24: Fentanyl trafficking; conspiring to traffic fentanyl; maintain a residence to store controlled substances; PWISD methamphetamine.
  • Niyah Ann Crawford20: Fentanyl trafficking; conspiring to traffic fentanyl; PWISD methamphetamine; maintaining a home to maintain a controlled substance.
  • Shakeem Latif Peterson-Brock29: Possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
