Man charged in death of woman after alleged assault

CELINA, Texas (KXII) – A Celina woman is dead and a man is in jail, accused of killing her.

Celina police said they responded to a call about a burglary Monday afternoon.

Investigation revealed that a male suspect unlawfully entered a home and assaulted the victim.

Police arrived on the scene and found Karl Stanley, 53, along with a female victim who had suffered serious injuries from an assault.

Despite life-saving efforts, the victim died on the spot.

Police said Stanley knew the woman, but their relationship has not been disclosed.

Collin County jail records show he is being held on charges of terroristic homicide and stalking.
