The influencer, who appeared on the Netflix show Too Hot to Handle, claimed she was given the bags by a friend named “Tex.”

Bednarska said Tex paid for her flights and wanted her to bring designer clothes watches from Phuket.

She was arrested and later pleaded guilty to being concerned in fraudulently evading a ban on the importation of a Class B drug.

Bednarska, who has been in custody since her arrest in October, cried as she was spared a prison sentence and instead given a suspended sentence.

Judge John Potter said the ex-reality star had landed herself £16,000 in debt as she tried to find her lavish lifestyle.

The court heard that Bednarska had been ‘living beyond her means’ and had therefore resorted to crime to pay off the debts.

She agreed to fly to Thailand on an all-expenses-paid trip to import designer goods out of the country in return for £18,000.

On October 10, she met a “colleague” of her boyfriend Tex before checking into her free hotel room.

Bednarska was subsequently given ‘expenses’ money“, with which she bought the two suitcases for the smuggled goods.

She was asked to provide items to ‘cover up’ the apparent clothing and watches, and was meant to have nothing more to do with it.

But as she flew home on October 20, Bednarska was stopped by Border Police officials and confirmed that she had packed the bags herself.

She was asked to unlock the suitcases, but couldn’t because she didn’t have the code.

Bednarska then told officials that she had received the bags at the airport.

Hidden under her clothing were a number of vacuum bags containing cannabis.

The total weight was 39.4kg, which would be worth approximately £157,600.

Judge Potter said: ‘You decided to put your trust in someone you barely knew. You traded under the direction of others, possibly with a view to greater profit.

“I’m sure you can imagine the harm drugs do to our communities when they are sold for profit. You directly contributed to this by agreeing to what you did.”

Bednarska was sentenced to twenty months in prison, of which two years were suspended.

She was also ordered to complete 15 days of rehabilitation activities.

Bednarska, who is originally from Poland but lives in Manchester, appeared in series 3 of Too Hot to Handle.
