Denver Nuggets react to New York Knicks’ big win

The New York Knicks gave the Denver Nuggets a rude awakening in their 145-118 win against them earlier this week at Ball Arena.

The victory for the Knicks They scrubbed the bad taste from their mouths after losing to the Utah Jazz this weekend, and the team needed a win like that to get back on track.

The Nuggets left the game extremely frustrated with how dominant the Knicks were.

‘No, you don’t flush if you’re ashamed’ Nuggets coach Michael Malone said after the game h/t Posting and Toasting. “You don’t flush if you’ve given up 145 points. You don’t flush if you haven’t played hard, haven’t played with effort, haven’t played with physicality. I don’t flush anything.”

The loss also led to praise from three-time MVP Nikola Jokic about the Knicks’ offensive performance.

“They had a great night, they’re really good,” Jokic said. “We didn’t make anything difficult, we didn’t show up tonight. There was one team playing basketball today. It’s always good to get a slap in the face just to wake up.”

The loss even caused Jamal Murray to speak out about the team’s lack of effort.

“It’s about how much you care,” Murray said. “Be proud that you’ve turned 30 and the other team at your house is chanting ‘Knicks’. They screwed us, we deserved it.”

Knowing that the Knicks being able to elicit that kind of response from the Nuggets should give them a bit of confidence. The Knicks knew they had to make a statement in their own building against one of the best teams in the league, and that’s exactly what they did.

The Knicks will look to start a winning streak and continue the road trip in the win column as they take on the Dallas Mavericks tonight at 7:30 PM ET.
