The Chattagram Metropolitan Police has arrested six people in connection with the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif yesterday during the unrest over the bail rejection of former Iskcon Bangladesh leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari.

They were identified through video footage, according to the Office of the Chief Counsel.

In a Facebook post today (Nov 27), the CAO said the CMP has also detained 21 people for vandalism and attacks on police during clashes.

Six members of the Awami League and the banned Chhatra League were also arrested in the port city with homemade improvised explosive devices (cocktails), according to the press release.


The joint forces have arrested a total of 33 people from Kotwali area of ​​Chattogram for vandalism and killing of Alif during the agitation.
