On her FB account, a Malaysian radio DJ, Mei Yan recently shared her shocking experience after discovering the price of spring onions sold at RM9.45 per KG. For Mei Yan, the price of vegetables is too expensive.

“I don’t really understand this, so I want to ask. Am I the only one who thinks it’s expensive? Is this the standard price for spring onions today? »

Mei Yan, however, did not reveal the location of the supermarket.

Mei Yan also raised the possibility of climate change which has contributed to the high price of vegetables.

“We used to get spring onions for free if we bought large quantities of vegetables. I guess we can’t do that anymore today?

According to a social media user, the spring onion Mei Yan saw came from Cameron Highlands.

“Cameron Highlands vegetable prices have increased recently. The Green Coral vegetable itself has increased twice the usual price.

“Prices of spring onions recently are around RM9.45 per kg.”

“It’s time to buy the seeds and plant them. It’s practical because you can have it at any time.

Another social media user said she recently bought spring onions for RM12 per kg.

“It can go up to RM22 per kg during the festive season.”

“Well, it’s time to plant some vegetables ourselves.”

“At the time, you could buy a few spring onions at the market without paying anything. »
