MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Crime Stoppers is now offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the return of a dog that was inside a car stolen outside the Fresh Market on Thursday.

Around 5 p.m., officers responded to the scene of a motor vehicle theft at the Fresh Market, 2145 Union Avenue. Now police are looking for the suspect responsible for stealing the car with the dog, Yoshi, still inside.

Police say the stolen car was used Friday to rob a bank in West Memphis, Arkansas. After the robbery, the driver drove across the river and crashed near Riverside Drive in downtown Memphis.

The vehicle was later found, but the dog was not inside.

According to Crime Stoppers, Yoshi’s owner is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone who can return Yoshi home safely. She says Yoshi has some vision and hearing loss and needs daily medication to relieve hip pain.
