What happened to Reggie Jackson? Excruciating pain sends Nuggets star to locker room against Timberwolves

For the first time in two years, the Denver Nuggets could be headed to an 0-2 deficit in a playoff series. After losing by seven points in Game 1, the defending Champions trailed heavily for most of Game 2 tonight. Additionally, their chances of making a comeback look even bleaker as their fullback Reggie Jackson suffered a horrific injury late in the game. the match that sent him straight to the locker room.

Heading into the final quarter with twenty-two points, the Nuggets tried to pull themselves together in the final twelve minutes. However, just three minutes into the fourth quarter, Reggie Jackson removed himself from the game. Then, instead of sitting on the bench, Jackson limped past his teammates and tried to walk straight toward the tunnel. Apparently suffering from a leg injury, he struggled to walk on his own and had to be helped by Nuggets staff members. Despite this, he fell twice on the way back. Later, Jackson was seen jumping on his right leg to try to get to the locker room as quickly as possible.

With Jackson out, the Nuggets didn’t have a backup point guard to lean on and make up for Jamal Murray’s terrible shooting night. Unlike his dominant performance in Game 2 against the Lakers, Murray couldn’t get past the Timberwolves’ league-best defense and finished with just eight points tonight. Additionally, he missed all four of his shots from distance and also missed fifteen of his eighteen field goal attempts.
