TNT cameras catch Tyrese Haliburton in shock after Isaiah Hartenstein’s miracle shot in Pacers vs Knicks

NEW York Knicks center Isaiah Hartenstein left Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton in shock after knocking down a batter at halfcourt in Monday’s 121-117 loss.

The Knicks defeated the Pacers in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinal series at Madison Square Garden.

Haliburton, 24, hit a 3 first to give Indiana a 55-46 lead with just three seconds left before the break to cap a strong first half.

And the Pacers seemed confident they would take their nine-point lead into halftime when Knicks star Jalen Brunson threw the ball to Hartestein, 26, from out of bounds.

Myles Turner didn’t even try to get close to the opposing big man, who had only made 27 three-pointers in his eight-year NBA career.

Haliburton covered his teammate, trying to contest the shot as the 7-foot Knicks center threw it from the edge of the half-court logo.

But as he turned around, the talented playmaker could only watch as the ball traveled through the air before hitting nothing but the net as the buzzer sounded, cutting Indiana’s lead to 55-49.

The stunned Garden crowd let out a deafening roar after the play.

And Haliburton could be seen raising his hands in disbelief with his shock captured by TNT cameras.

NBA fans on X were just as surprised.

“That was a big buzzer from Hartenstein from half court. Nobody thought it would go in,” one wrote.

“Lol Hartenstein with the most random buzzer-beater of the year,” added another.

I’m an NBA star, just like my All-Star dad. I’ve been described as a walking miracle, but I was raised by a former NFL player.

“This is insane,” said a third.

“This half court 3 just unlocked the first Hartenstein,” one wrote.

The shot marked the first time Hartenstein hit a shot in his career.

It was also the first half-court bucket made behind the half-court line by a true center in the playoffs since the start of the play-by-play era, according to an NBA reporter. Nathan Duncan.

The Knicks center finished the game with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Brunson led all players with 43 points while recording six rebounds and six assists.

New York came from behind in the second half and eventually took home the win after a wild final minute of play.

It featured a controversial punting violation and offensive fouls against the Pacers.

After the game, team manager Zach Zarba confirmed that officials incorrectly ruled that Pacers forward Aaron Nesmith punted the ball on Brunson’s bad pass, which would have led to a Knicks turnover.

“On the field, we felt that would constitute a punted ball violation,” Zarba said, according to the pool report.

“Post-match examination showed that the ball had hit the defender’s hand, which would be legal.”
