Lizzo’s Wild Tree-Inspired Met Gala Dress Leaves Social Media Users Divided

Lizzo’s Wild Tree-Inspired Met Gala Dress Leaves Social Media Users Divided

The 2024 Met Gala yielded countless head-turning celebrity looks, but not all of them were well-received by fans. This year’s theme was “The Garden of Time”, a 1962 short story by JG Ballard. Of course, the carpet was awash in flowers, although some stars opted for a less obvious approach. Lizzo, for example, went like a tree.

The “Juice” singer stunned in a nude dress by Parisian label Weinsanto, complete with leaf-shaped pops of pink, purple and gold. Her look also featured a bold headpiece, which is arguably the most controversial element of the look. Her unique figure is also a hot topic of debate, as it appears to have made her journey on the mat noticeably difficult.

Lizzo’s 2024 Met Gala Look

While some social media users are now comparing Lizzo to Groot, others think her helmet looked more like a cone a dog would wear to the vet. Many also compare its look to a lampshade, basketball hoop, used coffee filter, etc. Luckily, not everyone has something negative to say about this eye-catching dress. Several supporters are showing love to the “Good As Hell” artist for his fun fit and say it fit the theme perfectly.

Lizzo took to social media last night to share some photos from the evening, showing off the impressive dress and accompanying headpiece. “IF I’M NOT IN YOUR BEST DRESSED, YOUR FATPHOBIC,” she joked in her caption. “Girl, that wasn’t it. But I love you,” one fan commented. “I actually really like it!” another wrote. “And I would love to know the story behind this look.”
