Port of Long Beach Announces Adrian Granada as Chief Government Relations Officer – Press Telegram

Adrian Granda has been named director of government relations for the Port of Long Beach.

Granda, who most recently served as director of government affairs for the city of San Diego, will serve in essentially the same role at the nation’s second-largest seaport.

The Long Beach Board of Port Commissioners approved the appointment on Monday, May 6.

He will serve as the port’s representative to federal, state and local governments and oversee workforce development. He will also oversee the activities of the port’s legislative advocates in Sacramento and Washington, DC.

Granda spent four years leading San Diego’s strategic intergovernmental initiatives. Prior to that, he served in several positions, including policy advisor to a San Diego County supervisor, and communications director, council representative, and interim legislative affairs director for a San Diego council member. Diego.

Grandma grew up in Downey. He attended St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science from Cal State Long Beach.

Recently, the Port’s Government Relations Division was transferred, along with the Communications and Community Relations Division, to form the Office of Strategic Advocacy.

Organizational change brings together the functions and activities of government advocacy, public communication, and workforce development.
