The accident caused kilometers of traffic jams on Monday.

CENTREVILLE, Va. — A crash on Interstate 66 in Fairfax County caused kilometers of traffic backups during peak hours on Monday. A dump truck struck a bridge in the westbound lanes of the highway just before Route 28 (exit 53) in Centerville around 5 a.m.

Dash camera video shared with WUSA9 by Amir Jaffery shows the moment of impact. Lanes were closed for approximately an hour to investigate the crash and clear debris from the road. Since Tuesday morning, all lanes have been open again.

The video shows the dump truck driving down the road with the rear of the truck in an upright position. The rear of the truck hits the bridge support beam, causing the rear of the truck to fly off and plow into the road.

No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
