The shooting happened Sunday evening. Police announced the victim’s death on Tuesday.

PHOENIX — A man has died days after being shot following an argument in west Phoenix, city police said Tuesday morning.

According to police reports, Paul Albert Lopez Jr., 37, was shot Sunday night around 11:30 p.m. near 51st Avenue and Indian School Road. The person who called 911 reportedly heard gunshots and saw several people running away.

When officers arrived, they found Lopez in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital where he died a short time later, authorities said.

Investigators learned Lopez got into a verbal argument with two other people just before he was shot. No suspects have been arrested, but detectives are “actively following leads,” police said.
