El Paso traffic stop leads to arrest of fugitive on ,000 burglary warrant

A seemingly ordinary traffic stop in El Paso Wednesday led to the arrest of a fugitive on $10,000 bail and a burglary charge.

Jose Zaragoza, 35, was stopped Wednesday along the 1800 block of George Dieter Drive by an El Paso County Police Bureau sergeant for obstructing his license plates, the police office said. police in a press release.

According to the officer’s statement, a warrant check during the traffic stop revealed Zaragoza had an outstanding criminal warrant for a burglary charge with a $10,000 bond.

Zaragoza was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Jail without further incident, the release said.
