Endrick’s enigmatic message, a possible farewell to Palmeiras

Endrick’s suspected muscle injury that he supported on Wednesday evening Libertadores Cup clash against Independiente de Valle has hit Palmeiras hard. The young striker, who is in the home stretch of his career in Brazil before joining Real Madrid, posted a “story” online about his Instagram account which could be interpreted as a farewell to the club.

“Palmeiras I love you, thank you for everything,” the player wrote, referring to his current team. Endrick will be able to move to Europe and finalize his transfer to Real Madrid once he reaches his majority (he will be 18 on July 21). The teenager, who left the match on a stretcher, will undergo tests in the coming days to determine the extent of his injury. For now, there are fears that he will be excluded from the Copa America which is just over a month away. Endrick is part of Dorival Júnior’s 223-player squad for the tournament, which begins June 20 in the United States with Brazil will begin their campaign against Costa Rica on June 25.

Since then, he has played a total of 80 matches with the first team even though he has not yet turned 18. He contributed 21 goals and four assists – figures and performances which earned him a call-up to the Brazilian senior team.

He made his senior debut in November 2023, playing eight minutes of the 2-1 loss to Colombia. He has made four appearances for the national team, including recent friendlies which saw him finding the net at Wembley (against England) and at the Santiago Bernabéu – which will very soon become its new home.
