Do you remember this interactive silent Hill show created last November and it was really bad? Did you know it had several more months before its final chapter premiered on May 2? I had completely wiped Silent Hill: Ascension from my memory, but now that I have learned that there was apparently a competition to make custom characters appear in the game as an NPC, I can’t stop thinking about it. This is because fans are speculating that viewers managed to create characters inspired by Hideo Kojima, who is notoriously separate Since silent Hill developer Konami, in Ascent.

I first noticed this when a fan of streamer Super Eyepatch Wolf noticed the phenomenon on X (formerly Twitter). I had to see what happened because the idea that someone could have put a Kojima-like character into the series was hilarious, but that there could have been multiple seemed almost impossible. Fortunately, he uploaded VODs for his stream on Youtube. At 3:20, Super Eyepatch Wolf shuts down the game completely as a long-haired man who closely resembles Kojima appears in one scene.

Some other appearances of “Kojima-likes” don’t really resemble the Death Stranding developer. The ones Super Eyepatch Wolf questions at 51:49 and 1:01:13 only really look like him in the sense that they also wear glasses, but the one at 3:20 seems much closer, just with real luxurious locks to go with. . Part of me wonders if it’s fair Silent Hill: AscensionIt is Since the character creation tools are very limited, the characters end up sharing a handful of overlapping traits with Kojima’s appearance, such as glasses and beard. But the idea that a single person specifically wanted to put the developer in their former employer’s game as an act of protest is amusing.

Kojima’s falling out with Konami was widely publicized and speculated in 2015. It got so ugly that Geoff Keighley, who rarely talks about anything unsavory happening in the industry, called out Konami. during the Game Awards This year. While Kojima is most commonly associated with Metal gearone of his last projects under Konami was Silent hillsa canceled game co-made with Pan’s Labyrinth And The shape of water filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. The two men would later collaborate on Death StrandingDel Toro being the model for the character Deadman.
