Young Sheldon’s Iain Armitage breaks silence after show canceled

Young Sheldon’s cancellation was addressed by lead star Iain Armitage.

Famous for playing the child prodigy version of The Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon Cooper in the coming-of-age sitcom, Armitage posted a photo of himself with co-stars Raegan Revord and Montana Jordan on set Instagram yesterday (November 15).

“In case you’re wondering, I love my family,” he wrote. “There are about 200 more people making @youngsheldoncbs happen and I’m grateful to every single one of them. We’ll make the best 7th season possible – and behind the scenes there will be lots of laughter and lots of tears because I love so many people.”

Sharing his sadness in the comments, Revord replied: “I can’t stop crying. My family forever!”

Meanwhile, Connie Tucker actress Annie Potts also spoke out on social media following the Young Sheldon news.

“It’s a bittersweet moment,” she shared. “I loved every moment of this job and I loved every person who made this wonderful show possible. I was impressed by the talent of my colleagues who felt more like family than colleagues.

“I am beyond grateful to all of the Young Sheldon viewers and fans who made us number 1. So while I will miss the day-to-day work of filming Young Sheldon, I am celebrating seven wonderful years of laughter and love. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of it.”

CBS entertainment president Amy Reisenbach initially confirmed the series’ impending end in a statement obtained by TVLine.

“As a prequel to one of the greatest comedies, Young Sheldon proved that lightning can strike twice. It boasts a remarkable cast that feels like family from the first moment we saw them on the screen. screen and brings the characters to life with unique and heartfelt stories that attracted audiences from the start,” she commented.

“We extend our sincere thanks to executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and Steve Holland and the entire writing and production teams for these six wonderful seasons. We look forward to seeing their final season unfold and to say a proper farewell with the best episodes yet for their fans to enjoy.”
