'Walker' Star Jared Padalecki Has a Message for Fans Following Cancellation Announcement

It’s official, Walker Fans. After four seasons on the air, the CW drama is coming to an end.

Deadline shocked fans on May 21 when the outlet announced Walker had been canceled after its prime-time television debut in January 2021. The publication wrote that the CW would pull Walker nearly a year after Nexstar purchased the network from CBS (per The Hollywood Reporter), with most scripted shows being canceled to make way for unscripted series and shows from other countries.

At the time of the reveal, The CW expressed gratitude for the cast and crew’s hard work on the series ahead of its finale on Wednesday, June 26.

“We would like to thank the entire cast, crew, writers, directors and producers of Walker for their hard work and dedication over four incredible seasons,” the CW said in an official statement. “We would also like to extend a special thanks to star and executive producer Jared Padaleckiwho has been a member of the CW family for over 20 years and has been an integral part of some of the network’s biggest hits. »

Shortly after the news was announced WalkerAfter the cancellation, Jared (who plays the title role) took to Instagram to express how grateful he was to put on the cowboy hat and continue this journey with the CW.

“Hello everyone. It is with a heavy heart that I share this news with you. #Walker will not be airing on #CW for a fifth season,” he wrote alongside a photo of a hat of straw cowboy. “This is difficult news, of course, but we are SO grateful for the #WalkerFamily that has been built, both on and off set. After four seasons together, we have felt the love and support of the whole #WalkerFamily, and We will always be grateful.”

“In this world, home is not a ‘place’; it is a relationship,” he continued. “Places” can be lost. “Relationships” can live forever. Upon seeing the announcement, fans were immediately heartbroken. Walker no longer being.

“I’m so sorry to hear that, thank you for putting your heart and soul into everything you do! » one person wrote. “I’m absolutely heartbroken… loved this show! Thank you all so much for a wonderful 4 years and sending you so much love ❤️,” another wrote. “I was so curious to see what would happen next 😢,” another follower added.
