Former New England Patriots cornerback and two-time Super Bowl winner Logan Ryan joined Colin Cowherd this week and the two chatted Bill Belichick2016, and a double standard that Ryan says lost the locker room.

As Logan Ryan tells it, and as it became a subplot in The dynasty On Apple, Belichick’s political approach did not sit well with many players on the team. And while it’s easy to point the finger at who supported Belichick that led to blowback, the reality of what is being alleged is not that it was support for any candidate or the other, but rather that Belichick was able to make public comments about his political affiliations. while the players were prevented from doing so.

This double standard is at the heart of what Logan Ryan is talking about here. But that said, it’s hard to allege that someone “lost the locker room” during a season where the team won the Super Bowl, right?

In the clip, Logan Ryan says “I kind of see the spin on Bill’s political statements, supporting Trump and so on, and he said, “we’re not going to talk about anyone’s personal beliefs…”. I saw all this kind of (shaking) the locker room, like: “Hey, we don’t talk about these things, why are you talking about these things?»

Logan Ryan won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots before joining other teams. And the political climate has certainly changed during his NFL career.

Logan admitted it, saying “Times have changed, people want to talk about political opinions. Political opinions have entered football. People want to make advertisements. You can have your cell phone in a meeting. These things, employees in a workplace demand change, and I think as a boss you need to understand that.

If the company rule is “we don’t talk about political opinions,” that applies to everyone. It’s that simple. Belichick talking about it when the players were clearly excluded would have been a point of contention among some.

But Logan Ryan is right: times have changed, and politics is now woven into every aspect of life. This is something Belichick certainly understands. He’s a brilliant man. Maybe it’s something he’d rather not acknowledge.
