Indian chief arrested on drug and gun charges after traffic stop in Charles County FR24 News English

Robert Terrance Fletcher, 26, of Indian Head

On May 28, 2024, at 1:58 a.m., Officer J. Gordon of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 5100 block of Indian Head Highway, Indian Head, for a violation of the equipment of a vehicle. Upon contacting the driver, the officer found that his driver’s license had been suspended. The officer also observed a bottle of cough syrup containing codeine in plain view.

Further investigation revealed that the driver, Robert Terrance Fletcher, 26, of Indian Head, was also in possession of cocaine, crack cocaine and codeine syrup. Additionally, a loaded 9mm handgun with a full magazine was located. The handgun had been reported stolen in Washington, DC. A computer check revealed that Fletcher was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior violent crime conviction.

Fletcher was charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotics, possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm due to a prior felony conviction and other related charges.

Fletcher is currently being held without bail at the Charles County Detention Center.
