Geri Halliwell relentlessly mocked after ‘Pippa’ unfortunate mistake

Geri Halliwell was mocked by fans who were left shocked after the Spice Girl made an embarrassing mistake by posting a birthday message to Mel B.

To celebrate Melanie Brown’s 49th birthday, Geri shared a photo of herself with her bandmate.

The photos were adorable and some showed the couple dressed in ’90s clothing at the height of their pop careers. While the images were adorable, the caption was a little less charming since the singer accidentally posted a message to her publicist Pippa Beng.

The caption read: “Sent images to Pippa and this wording asked her to edit them if necessary. Happy birthday @officialmelb! I hope you have a great day!’

This was clearly a mistake, and it was suggested that the star didn’t share the post herself, which left fans unimpressed.

“Confirmation celebs don’t even post legit birthday messages 😂,” @alisa20 commented.

“What a beautiful, genuine and heartfelt message from you,” said @mikeytomsmith sarcastically.

The error was posted on social media for 24 minutes before the post was edited and the caption replaced with a simple birthday message.

But the edit came too late and fans were quick to mock the hilarious mistake, with many jumping to defend Pippa, who they believed to be the real person behind the message.

“Sending lots of love to Pippa on this day, she could use a glass of wine or two,” commented @bringback00s.

“How did this take 24 minutes to fix 🤣🙃 Oh Pippa you had a baby mare,” said @thatblonde.art.

@_mikajohnson commented: “Baby you need to take care of your social media manager 😂😂😂😂.”

Earlier this year, the Spice Girls had a rare reunion to mark Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday.

The girl group came together for a spontaneous performance of their hit song Stop and even danced to the original choreography as they sang at the party with Victoria Beckham’s youngest son on guitar.

Although they seemed to be having fun at that party, it has been reported in recent years that Geri and Mel had a frostier relationship than during their girl group days.

It comes months after Mel said Geri was lying about her age, adding she never saw her passport.

In 2019, Mel B revealed that she and Geri had an affair during their time in the group.

She told Piers Morgan during his Life Stories episode: “She’s going to hate me for this because she’s all posh in her country house and her husband. But it’s a fact. It just happened and we just laughed and that was it.

“We were best friends. It just happened. Have you ever done this? Yeah and I said it now. Finished.’

This fueled Geri’s previous revelation in the 90s that she had an affair with a famous woman. Speaking to radio DJ Howard Stern at the time, Geri said: “I had lesbian sex once. I quickly realized that I was not a lesbian. Breasts don’t bother me, but the rest is not my cup of tea.

“I didn’t like the lesbian thing. This is part of the experiment. I was drunk at the time.
