Boeing CEO set to meet with FAA officials over quality plan (NYSE:BA)

Boeing (NYSE:BA), Dave Calhoun, is expected to meet with the head of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration on Thursday to discuss the planemaker’s efforts to improve quality, Reuters reported on Wednesday.
FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker in February ordered Boeing (B.A.) to present in 90 days a plan to resolve “systemic” quality control problems. The agency also banned Boeing (B.A.) to increase production of its best-selling 737 Max after a door panel of a new plane exploded shortly after takeoff on January 5.
The meeting is expected to last three hours at FAA headquarters in Washington, Reuters reported. Other top Boeing (BA) executives, including Stephanie Pope, head of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, are expected to attend.
Calhoun announced this year that he would step down as CEO by the end of the year.
