Cassidy Rowe didn’t consider leaving Kentucky after coaching change

Playing for the University of Kentucky is something that Cassidy Rowe I always dreamed of growing up. Being from the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, it couldn’t get any better than this. So when Rowe was propositioned by Kyra Elzy right out of middle school, it was a big deal for her.

Rowe played under Elzy for two years, but after back-to-back 12-win seasons, Elzy was fired in March after the season ended. Even though this decision had to be made, it sent shockwaves through the program. Elzy was loved by everyone in the UK, including Rowe.

This left Rowe with an important decision to make. Should she look for an opportunity elsewhere – somewhere she could get more playing time? Or should she stick it out and stay in Lexington?

Well, according to her, there wasn’t even really a decision to make. The junior guard made an appearance on The Alan Cutler Show on Wednesday and reaffirmed that she is Kentucky through and through.

This thought never even crossed my mind” Rowe told Cutler regarding the idea of a transfer. (Kentucky is) home to me.

Next season, Rowe will have the opportunity to be a leader on and off the field for Kentucky. With Saniah Tylerthe rising junior has been at Kentucky the longest, so she will be responsible for getting people to learn the ropes around Lexington.
