In a viral moment capturing the essence of generational humor, a 90-year-old grandmother from London’s East End was shocked by the exorbitant price of a single drink in Ibiza.

Filmed by her granddaughter Amie-Beth, Peggy Hunt couldn’t believe the price of an alcoholic drink in the Balearic Islands.

She was so surprised by the price of the drink that she declared she would never go to the party venue – even going so far as to say she “would rather be thirsty”.

The hilarious video, posted on TikTok, garnered nearly 200,000 views, almost 10,000 likes and more than 100 comments in less than a day.

In it, Amie-Beth talks to her grandmother Peggy about how much she spent on a single vodka and lemonade during a recent holiday to Ibiza – leaving the nonagenarian in absolute shock.

Peggy Hunt (pictured), a 90-year-old grandmother from east London, was shocked to learn how much a single drink costs in Ibiza.

Speaking in the clip, Amie-Beth said: “Guess how much a vodka and lemonade costs in Ibiza?

After a moment’s thought, Peggy said: “Lemonade and vodka…£7.”

Aime-Beth asked, “What would cost you a lot?”

To which his grandmother replied: “What I just said – £7.

“Have another guess,” her granddaughter advised her.

The 90-year-old said: “£8? Not £10? Oh no, is it more? £11? £12? £13′

When she kept guessing and increasing the price, her granddaughter told her to “keep going.”

Eventually, Amie-Beth revealed the real price.

The 90-year-old said she “would rather be thirsty” than pay for a $23 vodka and lemonade or an $8 bottle of water.

She said: “€23. Vodka lemonade in Ibiza.

Shocked, Peggy replied, “Well, I’m not going there!”

Amie-Beth continues: “When we had two drinks, two vodkas and lemonade, it was €46… sometimes it’s €8 for a bottle of water.”

To which Peggy replied, “I’d rather be thirsty.” »

“Times have changed,” Amie-Beth added, in response to her grandmother’s hilarious response to the expensive drink.
