The Robbinsville boys’ track team has a sectional title of its own.

Behind two first-place finishes from star Maxim Rychkov on Saturday, the Ravens captured the Central Group III trophy after narrowly dominating Red Bank Regional, 70-68, over the two days at Jackson Liberty High.

TCNJ-bound Rychkov was once again the center of attention as he took victories in the 200 and 400 meters, as well as the 100 meters triumph already in his back pocket on Friday.

Rychkov posted a PR and a top-10 time in the state in the 400 when he clocked a 48.54 as part of a 1-2 finish for the Ravens. Senior LeBron Rose took second in 49.87. Rychkov returned for the 200m and ran a winning time of 22.04.

Robbinsville won five event titles overall by winning the 4×100 relay and 400 hurdles – Rose in 56.85 – on Friday.

West Windsor-Plainsboro North also won a sectional relay gold medal in the 4×400, with the quartet of Ishaan Sharma, Jay Dixit, Derek Mulder and Aryan Hiram winning easily in 3:24.22.

On the girls side, Ewing’s Aynisha McQuillar completed a double in the CJ III sprint after winning the 200 in a PR of 25.16. The Ithaca College-bound senior was the winner in the 100 Friday with a time of 12.04.

Lawrence’s Petra Doherty scored 5-0 in the high jump to win on attempts over Hopewell Valley’s Uchenna Obidike.

The WW-P North girls finished far behind Colts Neck (48-80) in team scoring.

At the Group IV Central meet at Hillsborough High, there was only one sectional title among the CVC schools. That went to Hightstown’s Devron Lewis on Friday in the 100, when the senior clocked 10.96.

The group championships will be held next weekend at Franklin High (I and IV), Delsea High (II and III) and Stockton University (non-public). The Meet of Champions is scheduled for June 12 at Pennsauken High.
