Crews stop progress of wildfire in Northern California

Firefighters stopped a fire from spreading in Clearlake on Saturday, but were still working to put it out into the afternoon.

Firefighters from Cal Fire and Lake County were on the scene of the rapidly spreading vegetation fire near the 16600 block of Dam Road before 1 p.m. Saturday. The Creek Fire was about 1.5 acres and threatened one structure, Cal Fire said. Authorities have ordered additional ground and air resources.

Around 1:15 p.m., firefighters stopped the wind-driven fire from spreading and were working to stop the blaze, according to Cal Fire.
