CeeDee Lamb could be the next star receiver in line for a massive contract extension, and he might not want to practice until he gets it.

The Dallas Cowboys began mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and multiple reports indicated that Lamb was not in attendance. Lamb’s absence wasn’t a shock since he skipped voluntary team activities, but the Cowboys may fine him if he doesn’t show up for minicamp.

Lamb is expected to make around $18 million in the final year of his rookie contract this season. He had an NFL-leading 135 receptions last season, along with 1,749 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, so he can definitely make a case that he deserves to be one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.

Justin Jefferson signed a record contract extension with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday. It has been reported that Lamb is waiting for this deal to reset the market, which would make sense.

Lamb may not get as much as Jefferson, but he undoubtedly wants to take advantage of a wide receiver market that has gone crazy this offseason. Paying the fines might be worth it if it helps increase pressure on the Cowboys.
