Dan Hurley turned down the Los Angeles Lakers and details of the contract offer he turned down have been revealed.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Lakers offered Hurley a 6-year, $70 million contract. That averages out to $11.67 million per season and would have made Hurley one of the six highest-paid coaches in the NBA.

Hurley turning down that money could indicate he never wanted to leave UConn for the Lakers. If anything, he may have used the Lakers’ flirtation to get a deserving pay raise from UConn.

Hurley is the 7th highest paid coach in college basketball, despite leading the Huskies to back-to-back national championships.

He seems to deserve more money from Connecticut.
