Traffic stop leads to drug charges in Hopkinsville

A Hopkinsville man was charged with drug possession after a traffic stop on West 2nd Street Tuesday morning.

Hopkinsville police said they stopped a vehicle driven by Darian Scales, 25, for ignoring a stop sign and throwing a marijuana joint out the window.

After a search of the vehicle, methamphetamine was allegedly located.

He was arrested and charged with failure to obey a stop sign, second-offense possession of methamphetamine, and tampering with physical evidence.
