Meet the Photon Toaster: 50,000 photos on a single charge, and smaller than an AirPod case!

Toaster LLC has launched a small anodized aluminum camera for a unique niche. It’s not only smaller than a GoPro, it’s smaller than an AirPods case, but it can store 20,197 photos in RAW format.

Toaster LLC doesn’t seem to be aiming for resolution with the Photon camera (which no doubt contributes to that capability) or widespread compatibility: it’s Mac-only, with slick Mac OS software.

Unfortunately – at least for now – it’s not ideal for becoming one of the best trail cameras because, according to Toaster, “when placed in nature, Photon’s motion sensor tends to often triggered by grass or leaves blowing across the field. wind, which can cause the Photon’s battery to drain quickly if it is set to capture a photo when movement occurs. A future software update may provide a motion sensitivity setting to help resolve this scenario.
