$5,000 reward offered to help find suspect who beat and sexually assaulted 91-year-old woman in Marion home

A $5,000 cash reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a man accused of beating and sexually assaulting a 91-year-old Reddick woman at her home early Sunday morning.

According to Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods, the elderly victim woke up around midnight on Sunday, June 9, and saw the suspect sneaking into his residence.

“In a cruel act of violence, (the victim) was beaten and sexually assaulted,” Sheriff Woods said in a social media post.

No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office regarding the incident or the suspect.

As MCSO detectives continue to investigate the incident, Sheriff Woods encourages the community to “come together to protect our most vulnerable citizens.”
