Duo arrested in alleged child abduction case

The Vithura police on Friday arrested two persons in connection with an alleged attempt to kidnap an infant from his house. The police identified the accused as Easwarappa and Revanna. Although Easwarappa apparently hails from Andhra Pradesh, authorities are yet to ascertain Revanna’s background.

The incident took place in Thottumukku around 8:45 am when Easwarappa entered Shan’s house. After finding Shan’s youngest child lying unattended in the living room, while his wife looked after his older brother, the accused allegedly attempted to abduct the baby by pulling his leg.

Allegation of begging

Shan arrived at this time. Easwarappa pretended to beg for alms and tried to flee. He was apprehended by Shan and some neighbors. Easwarappa’s friend Revanna was soon arrested from a nearby place in Anapetty. Both were handed over to police shortly afterwards.
