Fair Fight Action CEO Has a Message for 2024: “Let’s Fuck It”

Fair Fight Action CEO Has a Message for 2024: “Let’s Fuck It”

“It’s been a challenge,” Groh-Wargo told the hosts of “Political Georgia” on Friday. “We had to find a solution and it was difficult. It’s difficult to make layoffs. It’s difficult to do a restructuring. It’s hard for everyone.

But the group’s prospects are improving.

“I was able to negotiate our debt, we got over $1 million in relief, we paid off our debt and reduced our costs,” the returning CEO said.

Abrams no longer serves on the organization’s board of directors but is its president emeritus.

“(Abrams) helps us as needed (with) whatever we need,” Groh-Wargo said. “(But) she’s not involved in the day-to-day.”

On Friday, Fair Fight launched a new campaign to combat voter suppression called “Let’s Freaking Go!” »

Participants can volunteer as poll workers with Power the Polls and with candidates up and down the ballot, which Groh-Wargo says is important this election cycle.

“Joe Biden won the state by less than 12,000 votes (in 2020). Okay, let’s look at this. Everything the Republican Party of Georgia does this year is about those 12,000 votes,” Groh-Wargo said.

“I think it’s incumbent on Biden, his team, his surrogates and our Democrats at the local level to make their case and get involved in communities. Georgia and Michigan had the highest Black turnout in 2022 by far,” she said.

“I think we’re sitting here as Kamala Harris is doing just that,” Groh-Wargo added, noting the vice president’s trip to Atlanta on Friday and her planned return to Georgia on Tuesday.

Groh-Wargo acknowledged that “voters are not happy with their choices” in this year’s election between Biden and former President Donald Trump.

“It’s not about these two men. It’s not about these two parties,” she said of the election. “It’s about us and our future.”
