$2,500 reward offered in Alexander City shooting that left one dead, two injured

A $2,500 reward is being offered in hopes of resolving the investigation into a shooting in Alexander City that left one person dead and two others injured.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, June 9, at the Benson Community Center on North Central Avenue in Alexander City. Police said Jay’z’ion Strong, 19, of Goodwater, was found dead at the scene.

Police said two other people were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the shooting or has other details about it.
