Conshohocken Borough Council to consider purchasing former dealership June 18

As PlusThanTheCurve.com reported June 3-6, Conshohocken Borough plans to purchase the former car dealership located at 1109 and 1119 Fayette Street and 1201 Butler Pike in Conshohocken, which straddles the Conshohocken Borough and Township border. Whitemarsh.

If purchased by the borough, the property would be used to build a public safety facility that would house Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2 and Narberth Ambulance. Both of these entities currently have their own facilities elsewhere in the borough and would likely sell those facilities. Washington Fire Company No. 1 would continue to own its property on West Elm Street, but would only serve as a storage facility for water rescue equipment and small firefighting vehicles (due to its proximity to the river and its large parking lots). The price of the property would be $5.1 million.

The Conshohocken Borough Council will take up the matter on June 18 (agenda) when it will consider a sales agreement with Provco Pineville Fayette, LP, for the purchase of the property, as well as resolutions associated with the ‘purchase.

Note that the June 18 meeting is a Tuesday. Council normally meets on Wednesdays, but this meeting was postponed due to the June 19 public holiday. The meeting will take place in the district hall at 7:00 p.m.
