BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) — A new coffee shop is opening just in time for summer in Bristol.

Two-time Chopped champion Eli Dunn and his wife and business partner, Rachel Lopes-Almeida Dunn, are opening a Portuguese-inspired cafe called Folklore Provisions.

Located at 301 Hope St., Dunn said it will be a daytime cafe inspired by a fusion of his wife’s Azorean heritage and his New England dining experience. Its inauguration will take place on Saturday June 15.

“We can’t wait to share our dream with the East Bay and beyond!” » Dunn posted on Facebook.

In January, Dunn told 12 News there would be sandwiches, salads, homemade bread and other delicious items, as well as espressos, juices, Portuguese sodas, beer, wine and cocktails.

The menu will be very diet-conscious, he said, offering gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan selections.

Tentatively, the café will be open Wednesday to Saturday, with brunch on Sunday. There will be counter service, as well as tables for customers to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Even with the opening of Folklore Provisions, Eli’s Table will continue, according to Dunn.
