High fire concerns in Mohave County, including Colorado

River Valley expected Sunday due to single digits

relative humidity in the afternoon, poor nighttime recovery,

and gusty southwest winds.

RED FLAG WARNING EFFECTIVE FROM 11AM TO 8PM MST SUNDAY FOR

STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR MOHAVE COUNTY…

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a red flag

Warning, in effect from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. MST Sunday.

* AFFECTED AREA… All of Mohave County, AZ

* TIMING… from late Sunday morning to Sunday evening.

* WIND… Southwest winds between 20 and 25 mph with gusts

approaching 35 mph.

*HUMIDITY…Afternoon humidity values ​​between 5 and 10 percent

with nighttime recoveries of between 20 and 30 percent.

*IMPACTS…Any fire that develops will likely spread quickly.

Outdoor burning is not recommended.
