Gordon Ramsey gives important Father's Day message after bike accident

NEW LONDON, CT (WFSB) – Reality TV chef Gordon Ramsey gave an important Father’s Day message after getting into a “serious” bicycle accident in Connecticut.

In a post on his Page X, formerly Twitter, Ramsey reminded people to wear a helmet when riding a bike.

He said the accident happened this week, but it’s unclear where exactly it happened.

He received treatment at L&M Hospital in New London and thanked the doctors who took care of him.

In a statement, the hospital said: “Bicycle accidents are common injuries we see in the emergency department, especially during the summer months when people are more active. Wearing the right equipment, including a helmet, can significantly reduce the risk of serious injury. Helmets reduce the risk of head injury by 48%, serious head injury by 60%, traumatic brain injury by 53%, facial injury by 23% and the total number of cyclists killed or seriously injured by 34%.
