Netflix has canceled The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina

From Cosmopolitan

Netflix announced it was canceling Chilling Adventures of Sabrina after season four, and fans started a petition in response.

If you’re a big fan of Kiernan Shipka in the Sabrina spinoff The Teenage Witch, you’ll be sad to hear that the streaming service won’t be renewing the TV show after the fourth season. According to Netflix, the final episodes will see “strange terrors descend on Greendale”, adding:

“The clan must fight each terrifying threat one by one (the Weirs, the Wights, the Darkness to name a few), all leading to… The Void, which is the End of All Things. So as the witches wage war, with the help of the Fright Club, Nick slowly begins to win Sabrina’s heart back, but will it be too late?

On the popular show’s cancellation, show director Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said:

“Working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been an incredible honor from day one. Casting, starting with everyone’s favorite teenage witch Kiernan, has been an absolute joy. I am beyond grateful to the team, the writers , the editors, the assistants and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show.

“I’m also grateful to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros., Berlanti Television and Archie Comics for allowing us to tell the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it. We can’t wait for everyone see part four.”

Fans have since launched a petition to prevent the cancellation, started by a fan named Dominic Barrett, who explained: “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a hugely popular show on the streaming service Netflix. On July 8, 2020, it was announced that the series would end after its 4th season. We request that this be reinstated after its unfair cancellation and request that it be renewed for a 5th season.

“The series is extremely beloved by fans and we hope this petition can bring it back from the dead.” Currently, Netflix has not responded to the petition, but we hope, for the sake of fans, that their pleas are heard.
