Eamonn Holmes ‘to be offered £250,000 for stint on ITV reality show’

Eamonn Holmes is reportedly being offered a whopping £250,000 to appear on a huge reality TV show.

Big Brother celebrity bosses are said to be eyeing it for the next series, after Fern Britton, Nikita Kuzmin, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh appeared on the program this year, with David Potts set to win.

It comes after Eamonn split from his wife Ruth Langsford after 14 years of marriage.

The Loose Women star, 64, and GB News presenter Eamonn, also 64, confirmed they were divorcing late last month, with reports saying their work commitments had leads the TV duo to drift in “different directions”.

They have since spoken little about their split, although he has returned to his presenting role and thanked fans for their support as Ruth continues to take a break from Loose Women.

Amid all the life changes, it has now been said that Eamonn is top of the list of Celebrity Big Brother bosses, with a source claiming: “Celebrity Big Brother bookers are drawing up a wish list of contestants and Eamonn is there. They would love for him to participate as he would be a very popular housemate.

“Eamonn’s health issues are something they would take into account and, when putting together an offer, they would guarantee he would be looked after in the house.

“The offer would be a large six-figure sum, around £250,000, to try and tempt him.”

The insider added to The Sun: “Eamonn was always wanted for Celebrity Big Brother but never wanted to take part. His break-up with Ruth and having to sell his house in Belfast to pay a huge tax bill make the bookers think his head might be spinning.

Eamonn’s health problems have recently seen him using a walker in public, after speaking openly about chronic pain and back problems for several years.

The former This Morning presenter slipped three discs in 2021 and lost his “full mobility”.

He then underwent spinal surgery the following year, which kept him off the air for almost four months while he recovered.

Ruth opened up about her health problems just days before announcing their split, telling Women’s Weekly: “I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility is going to improve. We live in hope.

“He is doing physiotherapy, but we may have to accept that this may never be 100% true.

“No matter what the care situation is – and there are millions of carers in this country – it’s not always easy. It’s trying but we’re coping as a family.

In 2018, Eamonn reportedly denied claims he turned down £800,000 for a stint on Celebrity Big Brother.

“The words you will never hear come from my lips are: ‘I don’t need the money,'” he was quoted as saying.

He also added, according to The Mirror, that Ruth “don’t let me do it”, with his then-wife joking: “No, I just think they’d have you in your pants snoring.”
