Hamilton sports rainbow helmet in Barcelona

In Barcelona, Mercedes continues its momentum from Canada and shows a solid pace, with Hamilton leads FP2 times.

The Briton lined up his car in third position for the racethree tenths behind polesitter Lando Norris, with Russell fourth, making only the second time this season that Hamilton has outqualified his teammate.

And for the weekend in Spain, the 39-year-old brought back his rainbow helmet in support of the LGBTQ+ community.

With June being Pride Month, Hamilton sports the traditional colors of the six-striped Pride flag on the top of his helmet, with the slogan “Love is Love” superimposed.

This is not the first time that the Briton has displayed the rainbow look on the track, as he has been spreading the message since November 2021, when he sported this design during the first Qatar Grand Prix, with the phrase “We Stand Together.” written on his helmet.

After winning that race at Losail, Hamilton then retained the design for subsequent races in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, as well as in Bahrain at the start of last season.
