Ross Barkley cat revealed as shock Aston Villa transfer favorite

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards has spoken about Ross Barkley’s future, with Aston Villa emerging as favorites to sign him this summer.

Barkley will still be contracted to the Hatters next season, but his future is unclear following their relegation from the Premier League. Villa are the bookmakers’ favorite to sign him, at 1/5 with SkyBet, ahead of Everton, Leicester City, Brighton and Nottingham Forest.

On the future of the midfielder, who has impressed Luton since arriving from Nice last summer, Edwards said: “We had a conversation. The fans have shown their love for Ross, he is adored by all the world here, we will see what happens He is under contract with the club and I expect to see him in pre-season.

Edwards also made it clear that Luton were under no pressure to sell a player despite being relegated to the Championship. “We want to keep the majority of the group together to attack the championship,” he added.

“We have no financial worries and therefore we don’t have to sell anyone. It is inevitable that there will be changes – it happens. Above all, it must be good for us.

Barkley spent the 2020/21 season on injury-related loan at Villa, making 24 Premier League appearances for the club and scoring three goals.
