Reader’s Opinion: Stop the Destruction – Brainerd Dispatch

Crow Wing County has a zoning problem! We are facing a situation in Crow Wing County that is having a devastating effect on our landscape. Massive amounts of beautiful, mature trees are needlessly destroyed because our zoning laws are weak or non-existent. The proliferation of pole barns is destroying the natural beauty of this area. All across our county we are seeing trees being cut down to build more and more storage sheds. No one wants to see this area turned into a mini Twin Cities. Before long, driving peacefully in the countryside will be like driving on the 494.

There are solutions to stop this destruction of our natural resources, such as requiring a 75-foot setback from any state or county highway. With time running out, contact your county commissioner today and tell them to find a solution to stop the destruction of our natural resources.

They are the only people who can stop the destruction of our precious environment and change our zoning laws to reflect our desire to protect our natural resources from unwanted and unnecessary desecration.

Please contact them today!
